Nicos Christodoulakis was the Greek Minister of the Economy and Finance from 2001 to 2004 and a member of the Greek Parliament from 1999 to 2007. He is currently professor of economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and a research associate at LSE, Hellenic Observatory.
While Minister of the Economy and Finance, Christodoulakis was chairman of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) during Greece’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. He also chaired Eurogroup, where he particpated in international meetings with the G7, IMF, and World Bank. He was previously Minister for Development, with responsibility for Greece’s energy, industry, trade, tourism, and research sectors. He is a regular speaker at international economic and financial conferences.
