William J. Baumol
Research Associate William J. Baumol is a professor of economics at New York University.
His research interests include innovation and growth, antitrust economics, globalization, and trade. Selected publications include:
- The Free-Market Innovation Machine, 2002;
- Global Trade and Conflicting National Interests (with R. Gomory), 2000;
- "Predation and the Logic of the Average Variable Cost Test," Journal of Law and Economics,1996.
He was a member of the faculty of the London School of Economics (1947–49) and a professor at Princeton University (1949–91). Baumol has a B.S.S. from City College of New York, a Ph.D. from London University, as well as 11 honorary degrees.
